The “STEM Tinker Coding for Students” project, launched on October 1, 2024, is a dynamic initiative by Capgemini in collaboration with SRF Foundation to foster future-ready skills among government school students across India. Implemented in 85 schools across eight locations including Bengaluru, Chennai, Noida, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Gurugram, Trichy and Coimbatore, the program places special emphasis on empowering girls. By integrating STEM education, tinkering and coding in schools equipped with Atal Tinkering Labs, InnoSTE(A)M Labs and Computer Labs, the initiative aligns with the National Education Policy 2020. Students in Grades 6 to 9 are exposed to hands-on learning in electronics, IoT, 3D printing and open-source programming, nurturing creativity and problem-solving. This unique approach not only enhances technological literacy but also promotes innovation and entrepreneurship among students, positioning them to be future changemakers in India’s growing digital economy.
