Sahista, a student of Class VIII and the Head Girl at the Government Middle School, Mahrola, Nuh, Mewat hopes to become a doctor when she grows up. She developed an interest in Science, when SRF Foundation launched the Teachers Try Science (TTS) program in her school. With this program, teachers in her school were trained to deliver Science education using models made of low cost / no cost and recycled materials. Further, a Science lab is now operational in her school, allowing students like Sahista to perform lab activities and learn the concepts more effectively.
The middle school she is studying in is up to standard VIII. She will have to walk close to 10 km every day to reach the nearest senior secondary school in her area. However, she is determined to pursue her higher education and will do everything it takes to become a doctor.
With spark in her eyes and determination in her voice, her dream of becoming a doctor will soon become a reality.
