The Roop Anganwadi Support Program, a collaborative initiative of SRF Foundation and the Roop V.K. Jain Foundation, strengthens early childhood education in the underserved region of Mewat, Haryana. The program focuses on improving Anganwadi learning environments and enhancing the capacities of Anganwadi workers to support the holistic development of children aged 3–6 years.
To create stimulating and child-friendly spaces, selected Anganwadi centres were revitalized using the BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) approach. Centers were upgraded with interactive wall art, structured play and learning areas, child-friendly furniture, and clean drinking water facilities. Anganwadi workers received targeted training on nutrition, hygiene, early learning pedagogy, and curriculum delivery, supported by a practical Activity Handbook to guide daily classroom practices.
Learning materials such as storybooks, puzzles, toys, and workbooks were introduced to make learning joyful and interactive. Community meetings and health camps further strengthened awareness and child well-being, fostering a supportive and engaged learning ecosystem for young children in Mewat.
