Manasa Priya Vasudevan (she/her) is a human rights advocate, YuWaah Adolescent and Youth Development Specialist , working with adolescents, youth, government, private sector and from their communities including policy makers at the sub-national, national and global levels towards securing a public and policy environment that protects and advances the socio-economic empowerment of young people. At UNICEF India’s YuWaah, she is the Adolescent and Youth Development Specialist, where she leads partnerships and projects that advance young people’s civic leadership, social innovation and empowerment. In her role, Manasa steers multi-sectoral partnerships, at-scale programmes and thought leadership along with civil society, private sector, government bodies, multi-lateral agencies and young people themselves to enable and advance diverse young people’s agency, participation and leadership in programming and policy that impact their lives. In her previous role, Manasa managed comprehensive adolescent health and education programming and multi-stakeholder advocacy, across states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR. During 2018-2020, as member of the Family Planning 2020’s Global Reference Group, Manasa also ensured that young people’s diverse realities and needs informed and shaped national, regional and global FP programming and policy. In the past, as a NIXI fellow and Research Associate at IT for Change, she has undertaken research and advocacy on issues at the intersections of information communication technologies and social justice.
