Dr. Trisha Sen has donned different caps in the field of education for over 25 years as a teacher, teacher educator and researcher. She has taught education at the undergraduate and post graduate level in India and the United States. Previously, a consultant for Wipro Applying Thought in Schools, Trisha has also worked on the US portion of the Civic Education Study conducted by the IEA and has presented papers at several international conferences. She was part of the Social Sciences Syllabus Revision Committee of the NCERT National Curriculum Framework 2005. Trisha was also Senior Faculty at iDiscoveri and was responsible for creating the Post Graduate Diploma in Innovative Teaching Program. Trisha was Head of Curriculum Development and Teacher Training for Middle and High School at Birla Edutech. Trisha was subsequently the Head of Education at Aga Khan Education Service from 2013 to 2017. She went on later to be the India Country Manager of the Karta Initiative India Foundation that is incubated by the Tata Trusts where she steered the India program focusing on giving talented rural students access to world class higher education. Trisha was later Senior Vice President and Head of Education at Hubble Innovations that focused on creating technology-based products and solutions for rural and urban schools. She was subsequently the Director of Education at Aseema Charitable Trust. At Aseema, Trisha provided leadership and oversight of Aseema’s education programme in 2 municipal schools in Mumbai and a rural school in Igatpuri. Trisha has recently returned, as the Head of Academics, to Aga Khan Education Service, India, which is a part of the international AKDN-AKES network which has over 200 schools across Asia and Africa. Trisha provides programmatic and academic leadership to the AKESI units that include 8 schools in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, one residential Hostel, and 19 Pre-Primary Centres across rural Gujarat and Maharashtra. Trisha received her PhD in International and Comparative Education from Emory University, USA. She holds a MEd in Social Foundations of Education from the University of Florida, USA and a BEd and a BA (Honors) in Economics from the University of Delhi. Her doctoral research focused on comparing citizenship education in India and the United States.
