Pooja Gianchandani is an international digital economy and skills expert focused on cultivating skilled futures for transitioning economies.
She leads the output on empowering gig workers as part of GIZ’s Gig Economy Initiative. Her team has developed various capacity measures and tools on in-demand skills and fair work conditions, using human-centred strategies, and piloted them in 14+ countries. As the Gender and Diversity Advisor for GIZ’s digital transformation programme, Pooja promotes inclusive, feminist leadership. She has worked with the ILO, UNESCO, and BIBB and contributed to global publications and reports including UNESCO’s GEM Report and ILO’s Apprenticeships Toolkit. Fluent in four languages, she holds dual master’s degrees, is a German Chancellor’s Fellow, and an Aspire Circle Fellow in India.
